Roemer Commends Carson's Security Experience and Forward-Thinking Vision
Indianapolis - Andre Carson, Democratic Candidate for Congress in Indiana's 7th District, today held a First Responders Roundtable with former Indiana Congressman and 9/11 Commissioner Tim Roemer to discuss how to keep Indianapolis safe. At the roundtable, Roemer endorsed Carson, citing Carson's experience and understanding of the 21st century threats facing America.
"We need fresh thinking in Congress about the threats we face as a nation and how to keep Indiana families safe," said Roemer. "Andre has the experience, service and good judgment necessary to lead and I am pleased to support him in his bid for Congress."
Congressman Roemer and Carson heard from representatives of the fire fighters, sheriffs and air traffic controllers about the funding, training, and communications challenges they face as they make sure Indianapolis is prepared for a terrorist attack or disaster. Carson also discussed how his experience serving with the Indiana State Excise Police and Indiana's Department of Homeland Security's Intelligence Fusion Center gives him unique insight into our country's national security needs.
