Andre Carson Pledges to Protect Social Security at Meetings with Indianapolis Seniors
Indianapolis - André Carson, Democratic Candidate for Congress in Indiana's 7th District, signed pledges to never privatize Social Security during meetings with seniors at Briarwood and Lockefield Village Centers in Indianapolis this week."Now more than ever our seniors need us to protect and strengthen Social Security. That's why is so appalling to hear my opponent's plan to privatize Social Security and turn our seniors' guaranteed monthly benefits into a gamble," said Carson. "Social Security is a promise we have made to our seniors, and to generations to come, which is why I pledge to the people of the Seventh District that I will fight every single attempt to privatize social security."
Carson's Republican opponent, Jon Elrod, said he would support privatizing Social Security at a candidate forum on Wednesday, while Carson pledged to stand up to ensure that the promise of Social Security is protected.
